The story of DEEPA GURNANI blossomed from Jay and Deepa’s love for fashion and their commitment to preserving a craft (embroidery) steeped in history and cultural traditions.

When Deepa Gurnani launched in 2006 it was with a focus on luxury. The brand grew exponentially and was well received by the public. With growth, came the question of accessibility. The label wanted to become more inclusive with its price point and, naturally, Deepa by Deepa Gurnani was born.

Deepa by Deepa Gurnani was created as a fun and casual spinoff to the original, available at an approachable price. The line is a more accessible collection, consisting of beautiful and easy-to- wear pieces for all occasions.

Deepa Gurnani remains a luxury brand, focused on limited edition, trend-led capsule collections that are hand embroidered with Swarovski crystals and semi-precious stones.

Although the commitment to high quality workmanship remains the same for the two labels – both are handcrafted at the same studio in India by talented Karigars (Artisans) with stringent quality control – the style expression and fabrication remains unique to each. The two brands are different but spiritually the same.
