Stay-cation!

Sometimes the best vacation is a stay-cation.  We can be so caught up in our busy lives that we forget to stop and recharge our minds and souls.  Can't afford the time and or money to get away? We suggest taking advantage of the world around you. Pretend to be a tourist in your own city or neighborhood. You would be surprised at all the wonderful things you don't get to experience in your own town.

Pick a random city or island that you want to visit. Next, list the things you would do there. Is it, visit a landmark, museum,a fancy restaurant, or shopping?  If you picked one or more of these things, we have great news! You can do any or all of these things without booking a flight or hotel.

Here's a few places we recommend in NYC that will get your stay-cation on the right track.

Flat Iron Building (Landmark)
This building was built in 1902 and it's name derived from its shape, which is very similar to a 'flat iron' used to press clothes.
Roosevelt Island (Place to Explore)
A train or tram ride away. This Island sits between Manhattan and Queens and it is a nice place to go for a walk or bike ride.
Ladurée (Place to Eat)
A taste of Paris! Who said you have to fly all the way to Paris?  You can capture the essence right here in NYC. If you're looking for great Macaroons, try Ladurée.
Prospect Park (Place to Visit)
A nice park to walk, run, set up a picnic or even visit the zoo.
MIUSA (Place to Eat)
One of our favorite places to eat in Williamsburg!  MIUSA supports local farmers and uses food mainly from New York. Order one of their amazing meals, have a glass of wine and enjoy the ambiance.

We challenge you to turn off your tunnel vision, look up and experience life. You'll be surprised at how much you've been missing.
